National Association of Enterprise Employers (NAEE) has commenced training for over 50,000 entrepreneurs across the nation.
The five-day training which began in Calabar, Cross River state with the national and state officers, is aimed at employing at least 250,000 unemployed Nigerians.
The training is taking place at the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) Calabar, is preparatory to anticipated federal government empowerment, with participants drawn from all the 36 states, most of whom are established entrepreneurs in different spheres of businesses.
In a chat, the Director-General of the organisation, High Chief Solomon Akpan, said the training, which is done in phases, will embrace all members “because business men and entrepreneurs must know technical issues on funds management.”
The DG disclosed that the group has capacity to employ about 250,000 unemployed Nigerians with each member mandated to take away from the streets at least five persons in line with the federal government resolve to eradicate poverty, youth restiveness, vices like cultism and armed robbery.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for gradually bringing the change mantra into reality with empowerment programmes such as the N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfers, amongst others, pledging that whatever fund the federal government commits into NAEE would bring significant results.
“We have more than 50,000 members across the nation. Our vision is that each entrepreneur employs at least five persons, and at the end of the first one year, we would have reduced unemployment by 250,000 persons.
“This will go a long way to boost the change agenda of the federal government. We know our president is passionate about job creation and that is what exactly NAEE has come to do because the federal government cannot provide jobs for all our teeming youths”.
Some of the participants who spoke to our reporter lauded the NAEE leadership for the vision. Speaking, Chairman of NAEE, Cross River state, Engr Inameti, said the five day training was widening his business knowledge particularly on area of fund management and other technical matters.
National Administrative Director, Amb Esther Felix Emin, who is into poultry business, soap making amongst other, said with the anticipated federal government fund, she would bring in additional hand.
