NAF celebrates Izuchukwu, winner of National Science Competitive Exam

Master Edeani Izuchukwu, a student of Air Force Comprehensive School (AFCS) Agbani, Enugu state has won the “774 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award,” after he emerged winner of the just concluded National Science Competitive Examination .

Director of Public Relations and Information  Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward  Gabkwet who stated this in a statement Tuesday, said Izuchukwu was also rewarded with N1 million and scholarship up to PhD level in any Nigerian University of his choice.

According to the statement, Izuchukwu emerged the best overall among several other students from the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory.

The statement reads in part, “The competition is organised annually by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and opened to all secondary schools nationwide.

” Izuchukwu, a Senior Secondary 3 student representing Enugu State, came first at the grand finale of the competitive examination held on 14 March 2021 in Abuja.

” He emerged the Best Overall among several other students from the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory.

“The award presentation took place on Monday, 15 March 2021 at the Eagle Square, venue of the ongoing Technology and Innovation Expo 2021. The Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo presented Master Edeani with his award which included a plaque, N1 Million and scholarship up to PhD level in any Nigerian University of his choice.”
