NAF jets strike bandits in Kaduna forest

Following sustained air strikes against bandits in the North-west, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed several bandits and destroyed their meeting venues during air strikes in Kwaimbana forest area of Kaduna state.

The operation was conducted under Operation THUNDER STRIKE on 17 September 2020.

Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Maj.- Gen. John Enenche, said who disclosed this in a statement that the air strikes after series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which led to the “identification of the hideout along with a building in the centre of the area which was being used by the armed bandits as meeting venue.”

According to him, the NAF Air Component of Operation Thunder Strike dispatched jets and helicopter gunships to attack the location.

“The attack aircraft took turns in engaging the target area, scoring accurate hits which resulted in the damage of the building as well as neutralisation of several bandits,” he said.

Blueprint recalls that recently the NAF component of Operation Hadarin Daji killed several bandits and during air strikes on their hideouts in Doumborou and Kwiambana forests in Zamfara state.
