The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) has commenced the cultivation of 500 hectares of dry season wheat farming in five states.

The Executive Secretary (ES) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Prince Paul Ikonne, stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja.

Ikonne who expressed confidence that Nigeria may not experience any form of food shortage in 2023, said the Authority has achieved a lot in rice, maize etc farming within it two years of functioning to increase Nigeria food productions.

The ES who also revealed that the Authority has empowered over 50,000 youths said the Authority that inherited nothing when it was resuscitated in 2020 has grown to become an agency that is breaking records in the agricultural sector.

He said NALDA achievements are not fictitious as they are verifiable across the communities where they are located.

According to him, harvest from NALDA farms across the country will cushion any effects of food shortages, saying NALDA farms across the country have commenced harvesting and have recorded huge results.
