The National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) has congratulated Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and soccer loving Nigerians on the qualification of the Super Eagles to the semi-final of the 2019 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, ongoing in Egypt.
In a statement signed by the President of NANPF, Tijani Babangida, the players union expressed their happiness on the much desired victory 2-1 over perennial rivals South Africa.
“The Super Eagles have continued to prove that our nation remains a formidable force in the world of football. We are proud of their exploits and achievements so far, in this championship, ” the former Ajax of Amsterdam pacy winger said.
He went ahead to assure the players of the support and encouragement of the union at all times, adding that the welfare and career growth of the Nigerian footballers remains one of the key points in the agenda of the body.
The Super Eagles are expected to tackle the winner of the quarter finals clash between Ivory Coast and Algeria in the semi finals.
