NANS, NAES commend APC on choice of Bello

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been commended for its rightful decision to stick to the choice of  Yahaya Bello as the party’s governorship candidate to substitute late Prince Abubakar Audu during the forthcoming Supplementary election in Kogi State.

Addressing newsmen at Federal College of Education (FCE)Okene yesterday at  joint press conference organised NANS Zone C and National Association of Ebira Students (NAES), Comrade Salau Enesi of NANS said the decision of the party to pick the first runner up as the rightful substitute, was in line with electoral act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to him, the steps taken so far by the APC and INEC at finding solution to the impasse created by the death of the former APC governorship candidate was fair and reflected the opinion of patriotic Nigerians.

The groups   called on INEC not to cave into any form of intimidation and sentiments, by going ahead with the supplementary election scheduled for December 5th, 2015.
While congratulating Bello over his choice as the new APC governorship candidate, the students bodies , urged his deputy Hon. James Faleke to accept the decision of his party in good fate and join hands to works towards the progress of the state.
Enesi also called  on indigenes of Kogi state, youth and students to maintain peace during and after the forthcoming Supplementary election.
