NAS holds 1st scientific conference, Feb 4

The Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) will hold a two-day scientific conference between 4th and 5th of February, 2020, in Lagos, its executive secretary, Dr Oladoyin Odubanjo, has said.

The conference, which will hold at the Multipurpose Hall, University of Lagos is themed: “The Role of Science in Attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.

Odubanjo in a statement he issued, Tuesday, said the conference, which is the first of its kind, will focus on how science can facilitate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

NAS executive secretary said about 300 scientists are expected at the conference to discuss national issues.

He said the conference will showcase original scientific research and discoveries; and disseminate scientific information concerning issues of national relevance with a view to creating a platform to discuss scientific issues of societal significance.
