Nasaraw gov Sule praises Blueprint for objective reportage

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state Friday commended the management of Blueprint Newspapers for its balanced and objective reportage, as well as projecting the activities and achievements of the state government in a positive direction.

Sule gave the commendation when members of the management of the paper led by its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Malam Salihu Umar, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lafia.

He said he had noticed the objective reportage of the state government activities and achievements by Blueprint and appreciated the management for the good work.

“We thanked you sincerely for all the good that we continue to see about the state in your paper, that one I am not surprise as you have a very experience Journalist in your team, in addition to that we also have you as a working ambassador from Nasarawa state,” he said.

Governor Sule urged the management and staff of the paper to keep up the good work and assured that the state government was ready to partner with it.

He also tasked those in the media industry to always be truthful and objective in their reportage in order to promote good governance.

On the activities of Darul Salam, a terrorist group, Governor Sule said there was a clearance operation on them which led to the rescue of over 410 women and children including family members of the terrorist group, adding that they had since been re-united with their families.

“In reality the activities of Darul Salam is more than Boko Haram; we can say Boko Haram have completely taken over the camp of Darul Salam.”

Earlier, the COO, Alhaji Salihu Umar, assured the state governor of adequate publicity of its activities and achievements.

He further gave the assurance that Blueprint would continue to partner with the Nasarawa state government in projecting its laudable achievements as part of its contributions to the development of the state in particular and the country at large.

Umar thumbed up the governor for his commitment in dealing with the security challenges in the state, especially within the Toto communities.

He also commended him for taking various proactive and strategic steps that would help to enhance security of lives and property in the state.

“Specifically, your quick intervention to arrest the security challenges bedeviling the state is an attestation of your purposeful and people-centred leadership in the state.

“We are all living witnesses to your constant visits to Mr. President requesting him to deploy security personnel to your state, to curb the menace going on in Toto local government area, to be specific. Your Excellency didn’t rest until the devils called Darul Salam were flushed out in the entire local government,” he said.

The paper’s managing editor, Mr. Clem Oluwale; Editor, Abdulrahman Abdulrauf, and head of adverts, Mr. Durojaiye Hassan, were part of the COO entourage.
