Nasarawa: Al-Makura donates relief materials flood disaster victims in 4 communities 

Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Nasarawa South, Wednesday, donated relief materials worth millions of naira to the victims of recent flood disaster in four communities of Nasarawa state.

Items distributed were 109 bags each of sugar, rice and 109 cartons each of macaroni, supergetti, maggi, Indomie and cartons of kings vegetable oil.

The four communities affected by the flood includes old Awe town, Tunga, Jangwa and Rukubi in Awe and Doma local government areas of Nasarawa state.

In the meantime, Senator Al-makura, through his Senior Legislative Assistant (SLA) Mohammed Atose, flagged off the distribution of 130 motorcycles across his constituency with a symbolic presentation.

The relief materials and motorcycles in collaboration with Border Community Development Agency (BCDA), were distributed semulteniously across the affected communities.

Senator Al-Makura during said the rationale behind the distribution of relief materials and motorcycles, was to cushion the effect of the flood and bring succour to the victims.

In Awe local government area, the relief materials were delivered to the emir of Awe, Isa Abubakar Umar and Sarkin Tunga, Bala Ibrahim Galadima, on behalf of the victims.

Senator Al-Makura observed that the level of devastation caused by the flood was enormous, as such he said there was need to come to the aid of the victims to alleviate their sufferings.

Speaking earlier, representative of BCDA, Tanko Abdullahi, enjoined those incharge of the materials to ensure equity distribution of the items to the affected victims.
