Nasarawa APC lacks internal democracy – Reps aspirant

A House of Representatives aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress for Lafia /Obi federal constituency, Barr Abdullahi Ubandoma, has lashed the Nasarawa state chapter of the over “lack of internal democracy and level playing ground.” He stated this yesterday during a press briefing in Lafia.
Ubandoma said the leadership of the party in state had sold the party for personal interest to few individuals who have no interest of the party at heart.
“Already, there is a candidate on ground that the party has filled for that particular seat.
But so unfortunate, no one has said anything, so we feel that is the position of the party.
For us to have a chance to contest election is to move out of the party,” he said.
He said people have lost hope in the present leadership of the APC in the state, saying: “our moving to ADC is to bring succour to people of Lafia / Obi federal constituency to liberate them from the shackle of under- development and selective politics,” he said.
“ I wish to inform you today that I am joining the African Democratic Congress ( ADC) with over 30,000 supporters because APC in the state lacks level playing ground, while ADC believes in the rule of law, competence, accountability and enthronement of genuine democracy,” Ubandoma said.
The aspirant explained further that his desire to find a level playing ground where he would be allowed to showcase his experience and ability was to defect from the APC to ADC.
He said he could not watch at those who strongly believe in his struggle to shelve his ambition when there are many options on ground.
Ubandoma insisted that good governance, credible representation and desire to adequately represent the people of Lafia/Obi federal constituency at the National Assembly remains the hallmark of his struggle.
