Nasarawa assembly passes mortgage bill into law


The Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Tuesday, passed into law a bill to establish the Nasarawa state Mortgage board to regulate mortgages, foreclosure and enforcement in real property and for connected purposes.


Speaker of the house Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, announced the passage of the bill into law after Hon. Tanko Tunga, the majority leader of the House moved its motion, and was seconded by Luka Iliya Zhekaba during the house proceedings in Lafia.  He said the law will guaranteed safety of mortgages, regulate all mortgages, for foreclosure and enforcement in real properties.

The speaker directed the clerk to the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent.
