Sallah: Nasarawa gov sues for peaceful co-existence

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state Sunday called on Muslims and other Nigerians to live up to the highest ideals of their religious beliefs.

The governor, who made the call in his Sallah message in Gudi, Akwanga local government area of the state, urged citizens to live in peace and harmony with adherents of other faiths.

He said the country needed more prayers, commitment and unity to address the greater challenges confronting the country “now than ever before.”

Sule said, “with prayers and the fear of God, peaceful co-existence, mutual respect and love, Nigerians will tolerate one another, work together and be able to harness the abundant resources as a progressive nation.”

He also called on the citizens to continue to build bridges of brotherhood to harness the benefits of earthly life and the ultimate purpose of creation.

Sule, however, charged citizens to avoid all acts that were capable of tarnishing the name of the religion, and rather embrace peace and seek a better understanding of faiths.
