Nasarawa Gov to prioritise security

Nasarawa state governor Abdullahi  Alhaji Sule, Wednesday assured people of the state that peace and security of lives and property would be his major preoccupation.

He gave the assurance in his inaugural speech in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, saying that development partners will only key into the state’s developmental agenda if there is an atmosphere of peace and order.

” We shall place special emphasis on the security of the state, over the years, there has been a general scenario of recurring security breaches in some parts of the state. This situation has undermined progress in the state.

The governor also explained that he would focus on creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in the state.

“I would create innovative micro- and mesco- finance arrangements for artisans, small and medium scale Enterprises to have access to capital to grow their businesses.

The governor advised citizens to always shun violence, live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation.

Sule also expressed commitments to work with the Disco’s to improve on the provision of electricity within the state.
