Nasarawa govt begins sale of fertilizer to dry season farmers

The Nasarawa state government Thursday launched the sales of 30,000 metric tons of fertilizer to dry season farmers in the state.

Governor Abdullahi Sule launched the programme in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital.

Declaring the sales open, governor Sule said the idea was boost the agricultural activities and provide adequate foods to people of the state and the country at large.

Sule who was represented by the state deputy governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, said the present administration is determined and focus to ensure that the dry season farmers get their fertilizer in time as well as the raining season farmers also get their production in order to boost food production across the state.

He maintained that his government would continue to accord more priority to agriculture, adding that government would also partner giant in the agricultural business- sector.

Sule said the government is targeting over 200 dry season farmers to benefit from the fertilizer gesture.

 The fertilizer was purchased at the cost of N5,500 and subsidised to farmers at the cost of N4,500
