Nasarawa govt donates N200m to complete Doma barracks

The Nasarawa state government has donated N200 million for the completion of construction of Domain barracks in Doma local government of the state. Governor Tanko Almakura disclosed this when he played host to the Chief of Army Staff , Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai at the Nasarawa state government house. He commended the Nigerian Army for the establishment of a Forward Operation Base (FOB) and enhancing security in the state.

He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the take off of exercise “Cat Race” to curtail security challenges in the state. Earlier in his remarks, Buratai assured that the money would be judiciously used for the purpose it was meant.

He said: “Today is another confirmation of the governors desire to support security in the state. “I assure you that we will account for every kobo spent on the project. This is not the first time the state government is doing something in this regard. It has earlier donated 100 million for the project.”

He reiterated that exercise “Cat Race” is not targeted at any individual or group but to address the herders, farmers’ clashes, kidnapping and other security challenges in the state. He also announced that the army would provide free medical services to residents of the state, as part of its civil-military relations.
