Nasarawa police confirm release of 17 kidnapped victims

The Nasarawa state police command Monday, confirmed the released of the 17 persons that were kidnapped in a mosque in Gwargwada-Sabo village in Gadabuke development area of Nasarawa local government area of Nasarawa state.

The police public relations officer of the command, ASP Ramhan Nansel confirmed this in Lafia.

He said, “I don’t know whether ransom was paid, all I could say is that they released the captives due to the pressure by Police men who were trailing them”.

But one of the victim who prefer anonymity said that the 17 of them raised N2 million and food items like grains, cooking oil among others before they were released.

He said those who are poor, were directed to give grains, while the bouyant ones parted with money depending on the financial status of a victim or of his family.

He said that they have informers who feed them on the social status of all their victims.

Gunmen suspected to Kidnappers had invaded a mosque and abducted 17 persons in Gwargwada-Sabo community in Gadabuke development area of Nasarawa state.

The chief Imam of the community mosque and children were spared during the raid.
