Nasarawa procures N222m beds, mattresses for schools

Nasarawa state government has said that it has bought over 7000 beds and mattresses worth N222 million for distribution to the 28 public boarding secondary schools in the state, ahead of resumption.

Th e Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor Umaru Al-Makura, Ahmed Tukur, made this known to newsmen at the weekend in Lafi a.

Tukur said that the initiative was part of the state government eff orts at ensuring a conducive environment for students to learn.

He said that the Al-Makuraled administration considered education very critical and would always accord the sector the needed attention.

“Education is a top most priority of the present administration and will ensure that all necessary facilities and infrastructure needed are provided to our schools across the state,” Tukur said.

According to him, apart from the beds and mattresses, the state government will also distribute 38,000 furniture and other instructional materials to all schools.

He called on the people of the state to support the Al-Makuraled administration to deliver more democracy dividends for the benefi t of all.
