Nasarawa promotes 8,000 LG workers

The Nasarawa state local government Service Commission has released the promotion of over 8,000 workers across the 13 local government areas of the state.

Chairman of the Commission Mohammed Bawa stated this Wednesday in Lafia during the tour of LGAs.

“Though all LGAs workers have outstanding promotion of eight years, the Commission was only able to release the promotion of over 90 percent of workers who are qualified. And those that their promotion is still hanging have failed to produce their original certificates.” Bawa said.

The Chairman also explained that the Commission would commence extensive training and retraining of the staff in order to enhance their capacity for better output.

He added that they would also grant financial assistance to workers on in-service in recognized higher institutions as parts of the blueprint to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

He therefore, called on the workers to be more dedicated to their jobs to complement the gesture, and warned that the Commission would not hesitate to take action against any staff caught floating the rules guiding the conduct of civil servants in the state.

While responding, chairman Lafia local government area Aminu Mu’azu, represented by the Secretary of the local government Abubakar Mohammed commended the commission for the visit and appealed to them to back the promotion with financial benefit and engage in comprehensive training of staff.
