Nasarawa South: NLC backs Al-Makura for second term

The chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) Nasarawa state Comrade, Yusuf Sarki Iya, has endorsed Senator Umari Al-Makura for second term. 

Iya said that the union would mobilise support for the re-election of Senetor Umaru Al-Makura to the National Assembly in 2023.

Iya stated this during the official inauguration of of Al-Makura senatorial campaign/ Advisory council in Lafia on Saturday.

He said that Al-Makura performed well as a governor and now a senator, hence the need of the union’s stance to support his re-election bid to the National Assembly.

“We are advocate of good governance and we found good governance in APC from National to the state level.

“You  have done well when you were the governor of this state and you have brought another person, governor Abdullahi Sule as he is also doing well.

“We will mobilise workers for you as well as we will mobilise, advocate and canvass for support for you to enable you succeed,” he said.

The NLC chairman assured of the union’s readiness to work tirelessly for Al-Makura to emerge victorious in 2023.

On their parts, the state deputy governor Dr.Emmanuel Akabe, Senator Abubakar Sodangi, Chairman, Governor Sule/Akabe campaign organisation, the state APC secretary Aliyu Bello, all drummed support for the senator to succeed beyond 2023.

They said Al-Makura had provided Infrastructure and empowered the people across the state as governor of the state and now a senator.

They also urged the people of the state to vote Al-Makura and other APC candidates come 2023.
