Nasarawa takes measures against monkey pox

The management of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Nasarawa has said it has taken precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of monkey pox in the state.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Yakubu Ashuku, stated this yesterday in a chat with newsmen in Lafia.
The medical director, who spoke through Dr. Isa Obeirien, said the hospital had provided adequate medical logistics, quarantine and personnel, who would take care of the patients in case of any outbreak of disease in the state.
He explained that, symptoms of the monkey pox include severe headache, fever, vomiting, rashes, and body pain.
The medical officer also advised people to desist from eating monkey meat and rodent in order to prevent any likely infection.
