Nasarawa varsity alumni elect new excos

Nasarawa State University Alumni Association has elected their leaders
to pilot its affairs in the next three years. The election which took
place at the university campus produced Comrade Mustapha Isa as
president of the association.

Meanwhile Muhammed Yahaya Agede emerged as vice president; Emmanuel
Akolo, secretary-general; Joy Firi Usani, financial secretary; Shuaibu
Muhammed, PRO; Omale K. Kaka got the treasury  and Lawal Hadiza Haliru
as auditor, among others officials.

 Addressing the elected officials, the DVC Academic, Professor Olayemi
Akinwumi, urged the leaders to leave no stone unturned by making sure
that their tenure brings remarkable results and provides development
programmes. He advised them to work as a team  to uplift NSUK as a
state-owned university.

 He stated that in the present polity religion has become more pronounced than before, yet the country is enmeshed in corruption, making  Nigeria having no Nigerians.

Delivering his acceptance speech, the elected president expressed gratitude to God Almighty for granting him the opportunity to serve the association which he said was a dream realised.

Isa, the director of social welfare in Karu local government in Nasarawa state, promised not to relent but give his best by initiating valuable projects, organising programmes that can bring development to the university. He also said being the former secretary general of the Alumni, he has the experience to carry everyone along, work as a team and make sure he completes the projects initiated by the former president.

In the same vein, the chairman, Board Of Trustees (BOT) of the association, Nuhu Egya, said that the election was conducted under a peaceful atmosphere and pledged to cooperate with his members to support the new leadership.
