Nasarawa varsity appreciates its professor of Capital Market

The management and students of Nasarawa State University (NSUK) are glad one of their lecturers is a professor of Capital Markets.
Head of Department (HOD), Banking and Finance, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Prof. Uche Jeo Uwaleke, had been in the news when he was confirmed as professor of Finance and Capital Markets by management, as a result of the professor’s scholarly efforts in the financial market.
As the first professor of Capital Markets in Nigeria, he adds more value to academic activities at NSUK, which throws the varsity to national and international recognition.
Prof. Uwaleke’s brilliance and eloquence which have been nationally and internationally recognized, paved the way for his promotion. His ability to proffer solutions to difficult issues in his field contributed to his achievement. He particularly contributes regularly, through the media, in proffering solutions to the government on how to manage the nation’s economy.
Uwaleke holds B.Sc. (Accounting), M.Sc. (Economics) and PhD (Finance). He has been lecturing for over two decades in various institutions across Nigeria. He had taught Capital Market at University of Abuja, before proceeding to the department of Banking and Finance at NSUK.
Prof. Uwaleke is a fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a chartered banker and chartered stockbroker. He is also a member of the Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Institute of Capital Market Registrars and Nigerian Economic Society.
Uwaleke’s confirmation, as described by many of his colleagues, was a result of hardwork in his chosen field. Having been actively involved in Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), he led research teams drawn from Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which put together a compendium of the African and Middle East Capital Market. He was also linked to a publication on Nigeria’s fixed income market.
Prof. Uwaleke is the brain behind NSUK’s anthem. He is the coordinator National Accounting Competition, an annual competition organised by NSUK, referred to as Accounting Knowledge and Research Organisation (AKARO), which is also tagged ‘Prof. Muhammad Akaro Mainoma National Essay Competition.’
