Nasarawa varsity holds 24th inaugural lecture

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has held its 24th inaugural lecture series at the institution’s campus recently.

Delivering his welcome address, the vice chancellor, Professor Suleiman Bala Muhammed, stressed that inaugural lecture is a university culture and tradition which gives opportunity to a professor to defend himself before the university community why he deserves professorial title.

Muammed expressed gratitude to inaugural lecturer for his hardwork, commitment and determination. He said that the topic chosen was a laudable one, not only for intellectual exercise but for the development of the university.

 The VC also applauded the committee for coordinating the programme well.

The 24th inaugural lecture tagged “Eco-friendly Microbial Products for Health of the Environment” was presented by professor of Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Professor Makwin Danladi Makut.

Similarly, the president ANAN and former NSUK VC, Professor Muhammed Akaro Mainoma stated that he was optimistic with the brilliance of the presenter.

 The professor of Accounting and Finance said “Microbiology can be translated into finance language as efficiency is the beginning of progress”, therefore every individual is very important.

In the same vein, the president Nigerian Society for Microbiology, Professor Yerima Muhammed Bello and traditional leader of Sat Butural, Bokkos local government area of Plateau state, Dr John Mallo Makwal, expressed delight for the trackrecord the presenter had achieved in microbiology, and stressed that Makwin has demonstrated to the world as an accomplished thinker and gifted teacher who has achieved tremendously in his career.
