Youths from different political organisations in Nasarawa State plan to protest against the state government’s decision to ban all Buhari 2019 political activities in the state.
Leader of the group, Alhaji Isa Mohammed, revealed this yesterday in Lafia, explained that they would embark on the mass protest tomorrow in Lafia, the state capital, to compel the state government to reverse its decision banning all pro-Buhari political activities in the state.
“The government of Nasarawa state should not stop us from rallying our support for Buhari come 2019 as everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. What we are doing is to avoid a repeat of what happened in 2015 presidential election where the APC in the state could not deliver due to the government nonchalant attitude and negligence.
The government in this state it seems neither wants anybody from the state to get relevance at the federal level nor openly shows supports to Buhari 2019 campaigns,” he said.
In his respond, the APC National youths caucus chairman Nasarawa state, Barr. Ibrahim Yahaya Igga, admitted that there may be some grievances among the stakeholders in the state, but said it was not in their interest to promote views that would cause disaffection of the party stakeholders in the state.
“It is well known that Nasarawa state Governor is a strong supporter of President Buhari, Nasarawa had been the laboratory of the APC, where it was tested and it won election when it was even CPC. To hear from certain quarters that the governor has banned political activities relating to President Muhammadu Buhari is very hard to believe”, he said.
He encouraged the governor to continue his works for the state and support for President Buhari and cooperation from citizens for the governor.
