Nasarawa:SDP guber candidate pledges priority on agriculture, security

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa state, Muhammad Alfa Mustapha, has promised to establish agro-allied cottage industries across the three senatorial zones of the state.

He stated this, Tuesday in Lafia, during a media dialogue to flag off the campaign rally for the party in the state.

He said this would check post harvest losses the farmers face every season.

He explained that SDP’s manifesto is focused on harnessing the natural resources to grow the economy, especially in the agricultural sector.

Mustapha also pointed out that he would set up a strong and efficient security network of 5,000 youths to be employed as neighbourhood watch crime guards to secure all communities in Nasarawa state, if he is elected.

The SDP governorship candidate added that if given the mandate he will declare state of emergency on primary education as part of steps towards revamping the standard of education in the state.
