A team of automobile engineers were recently invited to Langtang, Plateau state to conduct a week-long intensive training for youth workers in the region in order to assist in preparing effective automobile electronic services in the country.

The workshop, organised by National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in collaboration with the member representing Langtang North and South Federal Constituency of Plateau state, Beni Lar, facilitated by ROMSI Technical Limited incorporated modern elements of diagnosing all forms of cars and necessary skills to cope with new trend in the industry.

While commissioning the skills acquisition centre at Kukwar village, Gazum community of the state,  the Chief Executive of NASENI, Prof. Mohammed Haruna, said the most easiest and cheapest way to abolish poverty in the country is by empowering the youths.

He lauded Hon. Lar for the collaboration with the Agency to give youths in the region a hope livelihood, urging others to also create impact in their regions and take responsibilities of mentorship.

According to Haruna, that “the economic value of this programme is that they are now in a position to be gainfully employed. This is a field that is lacking, we are lacking experts in the diagnosis and repair of advanced automobile engine.

“Now, they have the tools for detecting what people call computerized version. A lot of times some failures in the engine, people will tell you is brain box, is not brain box is engine management system, etc. Now they have the tools that can diagnose instead of guess work. A lot of the times this modern vehicles, a mechanic will ask you to change this and that and you continue changing things that are not the problem. Now this will direct them to the exact spot and once their professionalism is noted, people will be coming to them and will be giving them jobs. I assure you this is adequate for them to be gainfully employed, to feed their families and even train others,” he further pointed out.
