NASS ‘ll fast track 2018 budget – Rep Ajanah

The member representing Okehi/Adavi federal constituency of Kogi state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mohammed Kabiru Ajanah, has assured of the readiness of the National Assembly to fast track the 2018 budget in order to allow for smoother implementation of the country’s fiscal programmes.
He gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy call on the Corporate Headquarters of Blueprint newspapers on Tuesday.
Ajanah described the endorsement of the 2018 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) last week, ahead of the formal submission of the budget estimates as timely, pledging that the entire members of the National Assembly were ready to take patriotic steps to restore the hope of the citizenry.
The lawmaker, who was accompanied by a team of legislative aides, expressed happiness in the gradual recovery of the country from economic recession.
He also said he was deeply concerned about the unity and corporate development of the country, calling on Nigerians to joins hands restore the country’s lost glory.
The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Ports and Waterways, commended the nation’s media, describing it as the “force behind the crave by the majority of the populace for the oneness of the country,” and urged practitioners not to be
detracted by the challenges of nationhood.
“I am here to partner with you and to extend a hand of fellowship to you all at Blueprint. Without you, democracy wouldn’t be where it is today. The Nigerian press has been doing so well; making sacrifices for the unity of this country. We, at the National Assembly, look up to you, and I know, having gone this far, you will not fail,” he said.
Responding, Chairman of Blueprint Newspapers Limited, Mohammed Idris, commended the lawmaker for identifying with the media, and assured of its continuous partnership to move the country forward.
Similarly, the Editor-in-Chief of Blueprint, Hajiya Zainab Suleiman Okino, in her remarks, praised the commitment of Hon Ajanah in “fostering peace and unity in Kogi and Nigeria,” through his mandate and urged concerted efforts to sustain the spirit.
