NASS, others train 40 youth, women on poultry production

The Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Research Institutes, House of Representatives, National Animal Production Research Institutes (NAPRI), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Tumasa Nigeria Limited have trained young Farmers on poultry production

Our Correspondent reports that the participants were drawn from the North-west and North-east geopolitical zones

The Executive Director, NAPRI Professor Abdullahi Kolo Muhammad declaring close a 5-day training for the Farmers held in zaria recently, charged the participants to apply the basic techniques of poultry production.

Represented by his Deputy, Dr Sadiq Musa Otaru said the institute would continue to ensure sustainable interest in agricultural production in the Country by improving animal production research.

“This is training is to educate you as young Farmers on how best you can start and manage pen production from initial stage I want use this opportunity to request to stepdown what you learnt to other as you return to various states that.” He warned the participants.

Professor Kolo Muhammad therefore appreciate the house Committee Chairman Mannir Babban Dan-Agundi and Managing Director of the other collaborating firm, Alhaji Muhammad Jamilu  for their iniatives and urged them to maintain the tempo as it would go along way in boosting livestock production in the country.

Also speaking the managing Director of collaborating firm, Alhaji Muhammad Jamilu said that considering the high rate of people engaging in the business his firm deemed it necessary  to collaborate with the institutes in training the Youth on the modern techniques of poultry production to enable them  become self reliant and contribute to the nations economic development.
