Natives commend Buhari for appointing Abuja indigene ambassador

Indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the auspices of Abuja Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organisation (AOIYEO) weekend commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing an indigene of Abuja, Suleiman Sani, as ambassador nominee.

President of the organisation, Commandant Isaac David, in a chat with Blueprint in Abuja described the appointment as a square peg in a square hole. He said Sani who is a native of Abaji area council, has impressive track records in Nigeria’s administrative sector.

David further stated  that in addition to Sani’s well known anti-corruption lifestyle, the new career ambassador would help the Buhari government portray the good image of Nigeria abroad and further showcase optimum service to the nation.

He said the appointment has made the natives believe that President Buhari heard their call over the exclusion of the FCT indigene in the first ambassadorial list, adding that Sani’s choice as ambassador was one of Buhari’s best appointments so far.

David further called on Sani not to disappoint the people of Abuja by ensuring that he gives his best to portraying the nation and government of Nigeria to the world in a good light, urging him to work in the interest of President Buhari in line with his change agenda.

David also commended the FCT minister, Mallam Muhammad Bello and FCT minister of state, Dr. Rammattu Tijjana, for always standing for the interest of the indigenous people of Abuja. He added that their effort at governing the FCT has so far improved the living standard of the people, mostly in the rural areas.

He further said their roles in managing the affairs of the territory has further brought in more economic and infrastructural benefit to the FCT, uniting stakeholders without bringing in party, tribal or religious sentiment.
