Costa Rica have now released a 26-man squad those who play in the nation and continent-based league to face Nigeria’s Super Eagles in an international friendly clash between both teams.
Experienced goalkeeper Kaylor Navas is included in the team along with former Arsenal striker Joel Campbell, as well as defender Oscar Duarte.
Others are Esteban Alvarado, Patrick Sequeira (Goalkeepers).
The other defenders are Keysher Fuller, Juan Pablo Vargas, Kendall Waston, Bryan Oviedo, Carlos Martínez, Francisco Calvo, Ronald Matarrita and Daniel Chacon.
The midfielders are Celso Borges, Yeltsin Tejeda, Bryan Ruiz, Anthony Hernández, Brandon Aguilera, Jewison Bennette, Youstin Salas, Roan Wilson, Douglas López, Álvaro Zamora and Gerson Torres.
Strikers – Johan Venegas and Anthony Contreras complete the squad.
The same set of players are expected to prosecute the 2022 World Cup for their country.
The North Americans are scheduled to take on mainly Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles with few foreign-based lad in a friendly in faraway San Jose on Thursday November 10.
Costa Rica are drawn in Group E and will begin their quest at the global showpiece on November 23 against Spain.
They will face Japan on November 27 and Germany on December 1.
Five players alongside Navas were part of the team that made it to the quarter-final at the 2014 World Cup in Russia.
On the other hand, the Super Eagles who are yet to make it pass the round of 16 at any World Cup won’t be featuring during this year’s quadrenial soccer fiesta in Qatar, after the football team from Africa’s largest country failed to qualify.
