NCPC begins 2020 Easter pilgrimage April 18

The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has disclosed that it would begin this year’s Easter pilgrimage exercise to Israel on April 18.

The Commission’s director-in-charge, Mrs. Esther Kwaghe, made the disclosure on Sunday at a thanksgiving service held for the successful completion of last year’s annual general pilgrimage.

According to a statement issued Monday by the Commission’s head of media, Mr. Celestine Toruka, the thanksgiving service was held at the EYN Church of the Brethren Nigeria, Utako, Abuja.

It indicated that Mrs. Kwaghe disclosed further that the Commission would begin this year’s family pilgrimage exercise in August and the general pilgrimage exercise in October.

She said it was customary for the Commission to thank God for a successful annual pilgrimage exercise, adding that the 2019 general pilgrimage “recorded tremendous success which included zero morbidity and zero mortality” even as there was “no single case of air mishap.”

“On the whole, the Commission airlifted no fewer than 5,800 pilgrims to the Holy Land with a total of 21 flights back-to-back. This was only possible by the grace of God and so it is very important to thank and praise God for a successful pilgrimage exercise,” she said, according to the statement.
