Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) is now set to flag off its 2017 Christian Pilgrimage to Israel, Greece and Rome in Gombe, Gombe state.
Executive Secretary of the Commission, Rev. Tor Uja, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja while fielding questions from newsmen.
According to him, “the flag-off will take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Gombe International Airport, Gombe.”
He further disclosed that the Governor of Plateau state, Hon. Samuel Lalong, would be the Special Guest of Honour, with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Gida Mustafa, as the Distinguished Guest of Honour, while the Governor of Gombe state, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, would be the Chief Host.
Uja also said the flag-off had previously been slated for November 19, 2017, in Gombe, but was shifted due to operational reasons. “Nevertheless, the inaugural flight for this year’s pilgrimage took off to Israel on November 23, 2017, from Lagos,” he said.
He equally re-affirmed that the flag-off ceremony would begin at 9 am tomorrow, adding that no fewer than 280 intending pilgrims from the state would be airlifted to Israel under the First Batch.
The NCPC boss commended Governor Dankwambo for his “uncommon commitment to the advancement of Christian Pilgrimage in Gombe state in particular and Nigeria in general.”
