NCPC gears up for 2014 Easter pilgrimage

Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) is poised to make this year’s Easter pilgrimage exercise a unique and rewarding experience, a statement issued yesterday by the information officer, Celestine Oguguo, said.
According to the statement, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mr. John Kennedy Opara, said preparations were in top gear to ensure smooth and hitch free operations.
Opara also disclosed that the 2014 Easter pilgrimage would be flagged off on March 1. A total of twelve states would be participating in this year’s Easter pilgrimage exercise.  The states are Taraba, Anambra, Benue, Borno, FCT, Gombe, Pleteau, Kebbi, Niger, Imo, Osun and Kaduna.
This year’s Easter pilgrimage would be the third edition since it was flagged off for the first time, in March 2012, in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. It has continued to grow in leaps and bounds, the statement added.
“The Commission is ever committed to its success just like any of its two other pilgrimage packages, family and the main pilgrimage which is October/ December pilgrimage,” Opara said in the statement.
