NCPC maiden women pilgrims off to Israel

The maiden edition of Nigerian Christian pilgrim commission (NCPC) women pilgrimage to Israel was flagged off on Monday with the first of pilgrims on its inaugural flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the Commission’s Head of Media, Mr.
Celestine Toruka, the women dressed elegantly in Nigerian colours were excited for the opportunity the NCPC had provided them to go to Israel to pray.
The statement added that “speaking during a short orientation at the pilgrims terminal at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, a board member of the NCPC, Rev.
Anthony Fasipe, urged the women and other pilgrims to pray that the Lord opens their eyes where their treasure is.” He decried the spate of absconds during pilgrimage, noting that “this has become worrisome when even aged pilgrims now abscond in Israel.” “We in the Board are here to put an end to abscondment.
The pilgrimage is a spiritual journey and should be treated with all seriousness,” he said.
Blueprint recalls that the maiden women pilgrimage was scheduled for May 28, but was shifted due to visa challenges with the Israeli authorities.
