Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has called for the creation of African currency that would link African nations together to encourage investments and enable the world benefit from the continent.
Its Executive Secretary, Rev. Uja Tor Uja, made the call yesterday in Abuja while playing host to the Ghanaian Minister, Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi, who arrived in the country on Sunday for a three-day working visit.
Uja further called on African leaders to enable citizens believe in the continent, and urged them to provide a healthy mentality that would secure enabling environment for development and advancement.
He said: “Africa is not just vibrant, but a continent with a future. The languages we speak are colonials, we have our own languages, but the obstacles we see is the colonial heritage we need to overcome and come out of the colonial scheme.
“We need to build an economy that will build African nations more closely rather than believing in Europe and America.”
The NCPC boss commended the Ghanaian minister for re-inventing the existing relationships between Nigeria and Ghana by embarking on a working visit to understudy the NCPC on pilgrimage strategies.
He assured the minister of his readiness to partner with Ghana in solving the challenges faced during pilgrimage.
“We are ready to partner and share our thoughts and our engagements with you will continue to be productive.”
