NCPC vows to improve pilgrimage operations

Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara, has said that the Commission would continue to make major improvements in its operations to meet the “rising expectations of pilgrims.”
Opara said this while delivering a speech on “the 2013 Pilgrimage Account Reconciliation and 2014 Focus” in Abuja.

He said he was committed to improving the daily activities of pilgrimage “so that our fruits will show that pilgrimage can be a veritable instrument for national rebranding and shaping of attitudes.”
He said: “That way the pilgrimage exercise could be a source of inspiration for development, by capturing the spirit of honesty, truthfulness, hard work and righteousness.

“We will continue to improve on the system of pilgrimage operations; we will do whatever it takes to bridge the communication gap. We will put into consideration your personal efforts; we will do whatever adjustment to make sure we encourage your human efforts.”
He urged the commissioners to work together to strengthen the trust of the people in the Commission and focus on their hopes, aspirations and spiritual wellbeing.

Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, Venerable Obioma Onwuzumba, who gave the exhortation, urged the commissioners to take decisive actions in attaining set goals, adding that Christians needed to have realistic plan for success “which can only be achieved within measurable proportions.”
