He urged the DG to remain focused on actualising his vision for the NYSC through relentless pursuit of his policy thrust anchored on five cardinal points.

The honouree, Ibrahim, while appreciating the academy for the honour done him with the presentation, said the military and the academy community can work together to lift the sector to an enviable height.

He appreciated the History department of the NDA and said his achievement can’t be, without the support of the NDA.

“Continue to touch your fellow human being. This is an example of reward for hard work. Therefore this  honour will spur me to do more.

“It is a privilege and honour to receive this for my department. I want to use this opportunity to commend the commandant and the provost of the academy. This is encouraging.

“Also, it is a lesson for others that when given opportunity to serve humanity, there is always a reward at the end of the service,” he said.

Dr. Julia Ogbaji, who also is a class mate of the honouree, reading the honouree’s citation said Ibrahim is a scholar and has authored books, hence his promotion to the rank of associate professor.

The book reviewer, President, Historical Society of Nigeria, Professor Okpeh O. Okpeh (jnr) said volume interrogates the concept of war and development, simplifying history using examples from Nigeria.

He said the book was well written and researched and is fragmented into four adequate tested patterns and it focuses on self discipline.
