NDDC: Obudu’s emergence ‘ll sustain peace in Niger Delta – APC group

An All Progressive Congress (APC) group, on the platform of Southern mandate of Nigeria (SMN), has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the appointment of immediate past deputy governor of Edo state, Dr Pius Egberamwen Odubu, as the Board chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), saying, such will sustain the current peace in the zone.


Southern Mandate, a group which has membership across the 17 southern states, said in a statement made available to Blueprint in Abuja, after its national congress held at Ifitedun, Anambra state, the country home of its South-east coordinator, Uche Ufearoh, that the APC administration made the right choice in appointing Dr. Obudu into NDDC.


The statement signed by SMN’s national coordinator, Comrade Ikonomwan Francis and the national director for women mobilisation, Mrs. Grace Okoye, described the former deputy governor as “one man that is most suitable, capable and reliable that can liberate the people of Niger Delta region from shackles of poverty and developmental decadence. 


“And above all, Dr Pius Egberamwen Odubu is an epitome of peace who can sustain the relative peace that is currently enjoying in the region. We are very confident that his appointment will bring a lot of innovative, unbeatable and vision driven to the region. This will go a long way to re-inform, re-enforce and resuscitate the entire Niger Delta region to an amiable greater height.”


The statement went further to describe Odubu as “a man of proven integrity, who always deliver on any assignment he is given.”  


The group assured the new NDDC board chairman of a continuous support that will ensure his maximum success in office.
