NDE gives 65 Enugu school leavers basic business training 

The Small Scale Enterprises department of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced a 5-day training for school leavers and artisans in Enugu, Enugu state on Basic Business Training (BBT).

The training which is designed for 65 participants in the state is to train the beneficiaries on Record Keeping, Marketing, Management of Workers, Purchasing and Stock Control, Cash Management, Business Ethics, Costing of Products and Services among others.

Speaking at the official flag off of the training Wednesday in Enugu, the Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, represented by the Enugu state coordinator, Mrs Ifeoma Ezepue, stated the importance of skills acquisition and Small Scale Enterprises (SSE).

Fikpo said most developed countries did not become big through big corporations by started with SSE.

“It is pertinent at this time to inform you that most developed nations of the world did not achieve evonomic prosperity because of the large corporations that exist therein but through the small scale businesses based in the informal sector that provide employment for the majority of their pooulace.

“It is for this reason that NDE encourages the formation of small businesses through its Enterprise Creation Schemes and supports their success through the provision of business management training,” Fikpo said and enjoined the participants to take their training serious to maximise the benefit accruing to it.
