NDE organises Stakeholders’ Forum for PSOs, others in Osun

National Directorate of Employment has conducted a one-day Forum for key players under the Skills for Job Component of Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO) in Osun state.
The interactive meeting which brought together members of the Private Sector Operators, Government officials and NDE S4J Team, was held at Regina Suites, Oshogbo, and is one of the implementation plans before the actual commencement of Skills for Job Training in any participating state.
In his address at the event, NDE Director General, who spoke through Mrs.
Roseline Olaomi, NDE-YESSO Focal Person said, the forum was aimed at sensitising and expose stakeholders to skills for Job implementation modalities for the training of youth.
This, she said the agency will acheive using the public training institutions and also set a framework for the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which shall serve as a working document between government of State of Osun and Private Sector Operators.
He further used the platform of the meeting to inform participants that YESSO was introduced by the World Bank as a Youth Employment and Social Services Initiative to support states with verifiable safety net system to reduce poverty.
The YES SO initiative, according to her, is targeted at poor families, semi-skilled and unemployed youth e.t.c.
Dr.
Ladan expressed delight at the state government o for being a key partner in the implementation of the World Bank Assisted YESSO Operation and similar state-owned employment genwrationncheme.
According to him ‘’It is on record that the state government through the creation of O’ YES has made an indelible mark in the quest to change the living condition of the citizenry from the state of poverty to prosperity.
He commended the Governor Raufu Aregbesola for his determined effort to reduce the twin problem of poverty and Unemployment.
