NDE trains 100 youths on modern agric, marketing system

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of one hundred (100) youths consisting of males and females in modern agriculture and marketing system under the  Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) in Niger state.

The NDE state coordinator, Alhaji Abdulmalik Liman Abubakar said this Monday in Minna Monday, said that the scheme was aimed at creating job for the teaming unemployed youths in the country particularly in the state.

He explained that beneficiaries were to acquire skills to be self-employed rather than waiting for white collar jobs that were not forthcoming in contemporary society.

Abubakar stated that participants were selected across the entire 25 local governments to avoid lopsidedness through job center window created to register candidates for selected  and interested SSCE school leavers.

He said  the duration of the training by resource persons was for three months, but that it would begin a three-week intensive theory aspect before the practical aspects through  experimental farm set up for the programme.

 The NDE chief further said with this training, participants would be able to have a high yield from production, take them out of labour market and make them employers of labour in the society as they were only assisted with stipends for transportation.
