The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has arrested a 34-year-old man who allegedly inserted two wraps of heroin into his anus to bring it into the country.
This was contained in a statement by NDLEA’s of Head, Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA, weekend in Lagos.
It said the suspect was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on his arrival from Pakistan, during inward screening of passengers on a Qatar Airline flight.
The statement further disclosed that the arrest was facilitated by a scanning machine which tested the suspect positive for drug possession, even as he excreted two wraps of substances that tested to be heroin weighing 120 grammes when placed under close observation.
It stated that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
