NDPHC director laments infrastructure decay in Ondo

Executive Director (Technical) Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Ife Oyedele has called for the harnessing of Ondo state resources to ensure sustainable livelihood of the people and ensure  rapid development.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja Monday, Oyedele lamented that Ondo state is currently littered with several kilometers of bad roads despite several resources in the state.

He said it is unfortunate that Ondo state is still where it is today in terms of development.

“It is the duty of all men of goodwill to begin to work to turn things around. As of the moment, Ondo state is littered with several kilometers of bad roads.

“The state after 44 years of its creation does not have pipe borne water connected to any house, yet we celebrate the digging of boreholes everywhere which have adverse effects on the future of our environment.

“Rather than over celebrate the construction of flyover bridge which is meant to ease traffic flow in other climes, the state government should rather engage in the construction and rehabilitation of dilapidated roads littered all over the state.”

Oyedele said to take Ondo state to an enviable heights, there are lot of work to be done.

“This could only be achieved, if a technocrat is put in place in  government to change the narratives. Therefore, it is not strange that an administration may be under performing in a state, but the APC as a party has fulfilled its promise to the electorates in recent times.

“Therefore, when a government is under performing, it is the duty of the party to change its leadership to ensure that it fulfills its promises to the electorate.”
