Ndukwe to Oshiomhole: Obey judgement on Abia APC primaries

Factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state, Dr Emmanuel Aguzie Ndukwe, has tasked the national Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to obey the court order confirming him as the legally elected chairman of the party in the state.
Ndukwe said that the party refusal to obey the court order, not only portrays the party which prides itself as law abiding as being above the law, but may see candidates nominated on APC platform in the state being disqualified to run for office in the 2019 general elections.
The party chairman, who made the assertion while speaking with Blueprint newspaper, yesterday in Abuja, decried what he called “condoning of injustice” by the leadership of the APC at the national level.
He disclosed that an Abia State High Court had ordered that if congresses of the party were held and if they were not held under leadership of Emmanuel Ndukwe then they are illegal.
Ndukwe said that the court order which was first issued on March 8, 2018, and reaffirmed in June, are yet to be vacated, and were duly served the then leadership of the party under John Oyegun.
He stated that Oyegun and the APC National Adviser ignored the court orders and congresses were held with the congress committee being divided between the two factions in the state, however, arguing that his emergence was the outcome of the legally held congress.
According to him, Oyegun had hurriedly sworn in the factional chairman, Donatus Nwakpa before leaving office and party faithful in the stated had hope that with the emergence of the new leadership under Comrade Oshiomhole the injustice would have been addressed.
He queried why the National Chairman, notwithstanding several letters to this effect has chosen to tow the illegal part of his predecessor, especially since he has done the right thing in other states like Delta and Imo that had similar cases.
On his part, the party’s Legal Adviser in the state, Somaline Uzodinma, said that the dangers of not obeying the court orders is that the APC may not have legitimate candidates for the 2019 election and that would be dangerous.
He urged APC national chairman to swear in Ndukwu so that others will queue behind him and build the state as any candidate that emerges aside from him will be illegitimate.
