Ndume congratulates Buhari, APC on Tribunal verdict

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC Borno South), has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the president’s victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal Wednesday.

The Justice Mohammed Garba who led the 5-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal dismissed the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in its entirety, saying they failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubts.

Ndume in a personally signed statement in Abuja, said the tribunal verdict vindicated millions of Nigerians who after the elections admonished Atiku not to go to court against Buhari’s victory at the polls on the ground that the presidential election was cleanly won by him.

Senator Ndume said the tribunal judgement did not just confirm the faith and support of millions who thronged to vote President Buhari for a second term in office, but a resounding victory for our country’s democracy.

He said:  ‘’I heartily congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the judgement of the tribunal which confirmed his re-election this year.

“I commend also former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for choosing the path of law and order to express their dissatisfaction with the election results.

‘’Judgement given by the learned Justices at the Tribunal  only vindicated millions of Nigerians who admonished Atiku not to litigate against Buhari’s resounding victory at the February 23, 2019 Presidential election.

‘’On behalf of my family, Borno South Senatorial District and indeed the entire good people of Borno state,  I congratulate you and urge you to remain steadfast in your big quest to take Nigeria to the next level’’
