NEMA empowers victims of 2018 flood disasters in Taraba

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Sunday, donated materials to victims of 2018 flood disaster in Taraba state.

The NEMA head of operations in charge of Adamawa and Taraba states, Alhaji Abbani Garki, while donating the livelihood support in Nmannai village in Gassol local government area of Taraba state said the livelihood support were would be distributed to 370 victims of the 2018 flood disaster in the state.

He noted that grading machines, water pumps  and  sewing machines were were among the items provided for the 2018 victims of flood disaster disaster in the state.

According to him, “the livelihood support was donated  to engage the flood victims  in small scale business to restore means of livelihood for them. “

He however, warned those living around river banks and flood-prone areas to as a matter of urgency vacate to hinterlands, adding that they were predictions by Nimet that 30 states of the federation would be affected by flood this year.

Mrs Sharon Audu Nmannai who spoke to Blueprint on behalf of the beneficiaries lauded the intervention by the federal government, nothing that it would go a long way in changing their lives.
