New cabinet: More women, youth will be appointed – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to give women and youth more appointments to enable them contribute to national development in the last four years of his administration.

Speaking at a dinner organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women and Youth Presidential Campaign team to celebrate his re-election Saturday night in Abuja, the president only those with integrity and interest of the country would be considered for appointments in the next cabinet.

He said more women and youth would be considered for appointments because they have played significant role in his reelection. 
He said the federal government, under his leadership, would not disappoint women and youth in its policies and programmes. 

The president, who spoke on the activities of the Ministry in the agriculture sector, said more fertilisers would be made available to farmers at a lower rate in order increase production and reduction in food importation.
He called on Nigerian youth to embrace agriculture to ensure more food sufficiency and food export. 

The president also spoke on the previous administration, saying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wasted the nation’s resources in its 16 years rule.

He said the country witnessed rampant infrastructure decay in spite of the huge resources earned during the period.
