New Yobe governor to tour 17 local government councils for town hall meetings

Baring any change, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state may tour the seventeen local government councils of the state to interact with the ordinary citizens and know their problems directly.

According to a reliable source from government house, the protocol unit has been directed to prepare itenary of the tour.
Blueprint correspondent reports that this is the first of its kind in the history of the state since it was created on 27th August, 1991.

Some Damaturu residents who spoke to Blueprint, said, “that is the sign of a true democrat. By doing so he will hear and see things for himself, we pray Almighty Allah to help him” said Kaka Damaturu APC youth leader.

Fatima Babagana also said, “a true leader is always accessible and listens to the cry of his electorates.  Doing that will reduce false information sometimes being relayed to leaders”.

The governor had earlier during his campaign period set-up a committee to compile the immediate needs and problems of the 17 local governments for onward study.
