Newcastle considering loan swoop for Luiz

Out-of-favour Chelsea defender David Luiz could be set for a sensational loan move to Premier League strugglers Newcastle in January.
Sportsmail understands Rafa Benitez is keen to bring the £32million defender to St James’ Park on a temporary basis, with budget issues restricting him spending big.
The pair worked together at Stamford Bridge during Benitez’s time there as manager, and were seen speaking after Newcastle’s recent game at Chelsea.
It is believed Chelsea will not let him go until they have secured defensive cover though, while Luiz himself is holding out hope for a bigger club if he is to leave.
Antonio Conte has regularly spoken about his issues with the Premier League fixture schedule, but despite a huge number of games coming up he is unlikely to turn back to Luiz.
The pair have fallen out and Luiz’s future at the club is uncertain with the January window looming large.
Reports this week stated that Arsenal are also keen to sign him, and are readying a £25million bid which would likely usurp anything Newcastle can offer.
The North-East side, meanwhile, are also assessing January targets away from Luiz, and are keen on signing Liverpool’s Danny Ings to bolster their attacking threat.
West Ham and Crystal Palace are also looking at the striker, who has suffered a number of injury problems and looks unlikely to return to the first-team picture at Anfield.
