NGO distributes delivery kits to 500 pregnant women in Delta

A non-governmental organisation on the platform of HACEY with the support of Access Corporation, Thursday, distributed delivery kits to 500 pregnant women in Delta state.

The NGO advised pregnant women to always rush to clinics and hospitals to register for antenatal for healthy and safe delivery.

The facilitator of the organisation, Mrs Vera Ocholor, gave the advice at Okwe General Hospital in Asaba, Delta state while distributing delivery kits to over 500 pregnant women.

According to her, “This organization’s aim is, among others, to help and educate pregnant women to know the complications about pregnancy and the need to register at the hospital to ensuring reduction in maternal/mortality rate in the country.

However, she said that the NGO also educate them the need to start planning, from day one, to save money for the raining days because only husband cannot afford to buy baby materials needed for the comfort of both mother and child.

“It is good to have delivery kits such as mattress, marking torch, soap and sponge, which are normally used when they are put to bed.

“Today is the turn of Okwe General Hospital; we have visited Okwe Health Center, Umuagwu Health Center, St. Joseph Hospital and also going to FMC and El-Comfort private hospitals to find out their antenatal day to get their kits.

“HACEY will cover over seven hospitals in Asaba to educate our pregnant mothers and distribute delivery kits to assist them in our little way of giving back to the society, to improve healthy mother, healthy baby in the society”.
